Manchester

Manchester is a fantastic city to visit.  Here are some of my favourite things to see and do.

1. The Lowry Theatre and Gallery

The gallery now houses the worlds largest collection of Lowry paintings.
In addition its two theatres and additional performing arts space receive blockbuster musicals, dance, opera, comedy, ballet, children's shows, jazz, folk and popular music acts and West End productions.

2.  Selfridges Luxury Shopping

It would be a crime not to guide the discerning visitor to Selfridges; five floors of loveliness, desirability and luxury. The basement food hall is worth a trip in itself, with several counters serving speciality food

3.  Chinatown

Built in 1987 as a gift from the Chinese people, the arch was the first of its kind in Europe. Chinatown is lively all year round, but Chinese New Year is celebrated with particular vigour.

4.  Castlefield

With its atmospheric railway arches, cleaned-up canals and seemingly endless supply of tiered locks and cobblestones, Castlefield remains one of the city’s loveliest outdoor spots.
